Clothing and fabric is not only universal it is non-binary. Designers and fabricators pull their inspiration from multiple cultures, demographics, environments, and elements. These sculptures will allow the viewer to envision, re-invent and transport themselves. They will serve as a conduit to the past as well as the future.

The series Untitled Faces depicts individuals we see in todays multi-faceted media (i.e. TV, film, print, web.) These figures have been abstracted within the positive and negative space to engage the viewer and allow for individual interpretation.

These sculptures tell a story of lineage and legacy as to those who came before and those who are with us now. And they will continue to speak to those who are witness to the beauty of not only the wood but facial features, hair texture, skin color and personal expression.

This series centers around the idea of representation at the International Airport of Portland.

The sculptures embody different fabric patterns, colors and symbolism found in multiple civilizations from East to West Coast.  The sculptures also prompt the viewer to consider the meanings of fabric in relation to nature and belonging: A set of clothing—handcrafted in wood—is mounted on finished stainless steel, so the viewer sees themself in the composition, wearing the clothes or within the weavings of the fabric.
